	My Favorite Real Estate Story


	A wonderful old 3-legged dog named “Blue” recently played a significant role in one of my transactions. He belonged to a couple who planned to sell their home and spend their retirement years traveling in their new motorhome. The problem was — what to do with their beloved old “Blue.”


	On one transaction, we made sure that a 3-legged dog was part of the deal. No kidding!.

	I showed their home to a young family who immediately fell in love with the home. When I presented our offer, the listing agent warned me that the offer would be countered, as her clients were very firm on their price. I said “Well, what if we throw the sweet old 3-legged dog into the offer? My clients are willing to make a loving home for “Blue.”

Within half an hour we had our answer. The sellers had accepted our offer without a single alteration! The last word I received about old “Blue” was that he now has a custom-made life preserver so that he can swim with his newly adopted family. I’m wondering, with only one front leg, will he swim in circles?

I enjoy the creativity in making a transaction work. Real estate is not just black and white.
